Welcome to Utopia Boxers, formerly
Hetrick’s Boxers!
My love of animals started at an early age when I drove
my parents crazy bringing home any stray I found. My
first purebred dog was an English Setter named Sadie.
Soon after getting her, I joined 4-H and started showing
her in obedience.
My parents came to the United States from
Argentina
just before I was born. While visiting family in Buenos
Aires, I gained a special interest in the Falabella
Miniature Horses, which originated in
Argentina.
After I met and married my husband in 1982. I purchased
my first miniature horse and Hetrick’s Miniatures was
established. For the next 20 years I bred, trained and
showed miniature horses. Two of my children, Michael and
Kalynn, joined me in the show ring. Kalynn went on to
compete at the National level winning multiple National
and Top Ten titles.

In 1997 we purchased our first boxer from Connie Nadratowski of Stubby Acres Miniature Horses and Boxers.
She was a beautiful classic fawn we named Hetrick’s
Xenia.
I have had many different types of dogs in my lifetime
but Xenia was the most amazing! She started a love of
the boxer breed and a hunger to learn as much as
possible about the breed. Four years after we got Xenia,
I got a call from Connie. She had one of Xenia’s
littermates and could no longer keep her. She asked me
if I wanted her and I did not hesitate in my response,
YES! I felt it was fate since her name was Sadie, just
like my first 4-H dog. |

Sadie (Stubby Acres Sadie Oh’ Grady) is the foundation
bitch who is at the heart of all my other dogs.
When I made the decision to breed Sadie I asked my Vet
if he would recommend a breeder. That is how I met my
friend and Mentor, Peggy Butler of U-Turn Boxers. Peggy
got me involved in the Orange Coast Boxer Club,
introduced me to the dog show ring and many other
wonderful and helpful boxer breeders.
Our first homebred show dog was Flash (Hetrick’s Rock ‘N
Roll Flashback). Since my daughter, Kalynn, started
showing miniature horses at the age of five, she moved
right into the dog ring with ease. She handles them
beautifully. Please don’t hesitate
to visit her handling page. |

Our goal here at Utopia Boxers is to “Strive for
Perfection”. We breed only occasionally, and breed
boxers who are sound in health, conformation and
temperament. All our puppies go to carefully selected
homes.
Boxers are an amazing breed! They are proud, dignified
and loyal, but also playful clowns who love to be with
their people. We will be forever grateful for all the
joy they have brought into our lives.
